Recipe: Holiday Cookies

No food speaks to the holidays quite like cookies. Cookie decorating with colored frosting, cookie cutters, and sprinkles is always a delightful pastime, but this year, my mom and I baked something sweet and basic. I found a basic sugar cookie recipe (the buttermilk is the best ingredient that I had never tried in cookies before) and we made two different kinds: peppermint and peanut butter.

The peanut butter was six Reese’s cups that I broke up into little pieces.

  The peppermint was two crushed up candy canes.

Roll the peppermint up in the cookie before putting it on the baking sheet.
