If you’re somehow living under a rock, you may have missed that the third in line for the British throne was born yesterday. Kate Middleton finally gave birth to the baby of the year (decade?) and I’m actually so excited about it. You know how people have their favorite Hollywood couple that they want to be friends with, envy their style, and have this impression that they are perfect? That’s Will and Kate for me. My roommates and I were talking about how Americans are probably more excited about this baby than Brits, and I’d have to admit that I fall into that category. Judge if you want, but I am so intrigued by this couple.
With that being said, I can’t say I’ve seen a picture of Kate wearing something that I dislike, and I would without a doubt want her closet over anyone else’s. I’ve been wanting to do an outfit post on her style for quite some time, but the issue was (and continues to be) that I have too many favorites. So I’ve decided to narrow it down to formal dresses for now. It’s not like she’s going to stop dressing well now that she has a child, so there will definitely be more mentions of her in upcoming posts.
The turquoise dress has always been a favorite of mine. Breezy, long, both modest and not…it’s practically perfect. Not to mention the color. The black lace dresses that I see in stores so often look tacky, but this one doesn’t. The other two are so simple but so unique, and I think that’s why I like Kate’s style so much. Most of the things she wears aren’t over the top and instead each has a characteristic that adds subtle elegance. A lot of the outfits that have been my favorite are just casual combinations that appear a lot more accessible than these thousand
dollar pound dresses and heels. I’m fighting the urge to write more about wintry clothing, so we’ll save that post for another day. Congratulations to Kate & Will! I cannot wait to see how adorable this baby boy is.
