If you follow me on Instagram, you probably noticed that I spent this past weekend in Chicago. I have a couple of friends from college who live there and I’ve been wanting to visit… since one of them is in grad school, the beginning of the semester was the most logical time to go. I lucked out because it was “warm” the couple of days I was there… except Friday night, when the two blocks to pick up pizza were the coldest I’ve ever been (the winds in Chicago have nothing on the winds in central NY, apparently).
It was such a great weekend, and I also realized it was the first time in nearly a year that I’d traveled somewhere for fun that wasn’t home. Cue the wanderlust! We ate deep dish at Lou Malnati’s (bottom left), found the cutest apothecary that I fell in love with (right middle and bottom), visited the Bean (bottom center, left middle), had drinks at the Hancock Tower (top left, highly recommend!), shopped on Michigan Ave, and had drinks at drumBAR. And of course, had the best time catching up.
I’m fighting off some kind of sickness right now, but it’s totally worth how fun this trip was. There’s nothing like catching up with good friends and knowing you can pick up right where you left off. Another trip to the Windy City is definitely on the agenda… I already can’t wait to go back!
