The Best of L.L. Bean

Best of L.L. BeanSlightly Fitted Scotch Plaid Shirt // Quilted Riding Jacket // Men’s Cotton Fisherman’s Sweater // Classic Cashmere Cardigan // Quilted Vest // Vintage Cable Turtleneck // Boat and Tote Zip-Top Bags // 1912 Heritage Sweater // Wicked Good Moccasins // 8″ Thinsulate Bean Boots

If you’ve read this blog for awhile, you’ve probably caught onto my deep love for L.L. Bean. As someone who values high quality products and stellar customer service more than the average person, it’s rare for me to find a company that so consistently exceeds expectations.

The number of good experiences I’ve had with this brand can’t be counted on two hands, so I’ll just share the most recent one. I ordered this pullover (which really should have been included in this graphic) in a medium and it fit just right. Since I prefer my pullovers to be slightly oversized, I called to inquire that if I wanted to exchange for a large, was there any way I could waive the return shipping fee? Their shipping is always free, but you have to pay for returns by mail. What I learned from the kind associate this time around is that exchanges are free! Not only did I not have to pay to switch out sizes, but I still got the 10% off I’d gotten on my first purchase, plus received a second $10 gift card (they were giving them out with a purchase of $50+). The associate herself suggested that I use my original $10 gift card on my new size and save the new one for later, so I ended up getting the pullover for even less than I had originally.

Long story, I know. But that completely epitomizes what this brand is about. Their product quality and value for the price is unparalleled, and you’d be surprised at how many of their items are actually quite fashion forward :)

L.L. Bean Favorites

Double Cotton Sweater ($45) // Signature Fisherman’s Sweater ($89) // Fleece-Lined Flannel ($64)

There were too many favorites to include in one image, so above are three more things I’d recommend for this fall + winter. I have the fisherman’s sweater–definitely size up..it also looks great with leggings–and you can’t go wrong with a classic cable knit under $50. Also, three words: fleece-lined flannel (men’s here).

Unsurprisingly, some of my most worn items come from L.L. Bean (and this shirt is currently on its way!). They include the medium zip boat tote (seen in tons of posts, most recently here), the fisherman’s sweater, Wicked Good Moccasins (best.present.ever), my quilted riding jacket, and obviously my Bean Boots (find out what pair is best for you). And I’m not even embarrassed to say that that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Do you shop at L.L. Bean and if so, what are some of your favorites? Anyone else swear by the Bean Boots? I’d love to hear a little bit about your experience, especially when it comes to sizing…my purchases have run all the way from XS-L!
