Some say that shopping for men is the hardest, but I disagree. When in doubt, my plan is to shop with these things in mind: stick with the classics, buy them something they’d a) not treat themselves to or b) not realize they need, and pay extra close attention to any little hints they drop.

Unlike girls who have specific preferences for everything, many guys can generally be a little more flexible in the colors and styles of the items they’re gift. Yesterday, my boyfriend asked me whether I prefer silver or gold for a specific pair of earrings. I tried to give an overarching “generally speaking, I prefer gold,” but had to backtrack by saying that the preference depended on what kind of earrings, earrings vs. other jewelry, etc. See? Boys = easy. Girls = difficult.

Whether you’re shopping for your dad, boyfriend, brother, uncle, cousin, or friend, these items are sure to put a smile on the guy’s face this holiday season. It’s hard to play favorites, but I’m enamored with Hillflint sweaters (you pick their college or university…how cool is that?! I want one for myself), this watch, Bean Boots, these bowties (so many choices), and this flannel (duh).

I’ll be back with quick post tomorrow and then a roundup of Black Friday sales first thing Friday, so stay tuned!

Don’t forget…rest of the gift guides (in blog form) and the Holiday Shop!
