Guys, the Barbour hype is so real. I’ve been wearing this jacket non-stop since December (on days when I don’t need a down coat or a dressier wool coat) and am obsessed! I waited awhile to splurge and got it for 25% off at Nordstrom in November. It was backordered for a month but was so, so worth it. Definitely more of a fall piece, but on 50 degree days like yesterday, has become my preferred choice of outerwear.
A quick style/sizing note: I’m wearing the ‘Bedale,’ which is unisex so has a boxier feel than the ‘Beadnell,’ the women’s jacket with a more feminine cut. I tried both on at the Barbour store in Georgetown before making my decision, but ultimately went with the Bedale because of my broad shoulders. I would have had to size up in the Beadnell to where the midsection looked too large, plus the Bedale has really nice cuffs inside the sleeve that keep the elements out (you can kind of see it in the photo below). Yes, it’s a little more masculine, but I don’t mind since it’s a) incredibly practical and b) a change from my other outerwear. I’d definitely recommend it if you want something you can layer under!
Another well-loved item: my BP. Trolley booties. While my feet did ache by the end of our last night in Nashville (we really needed to go home, so it worked out well), they’re incredibly comfortable given the heel height. The discomfort I have experienced could easily be fixed with a good insole that I’ve just been putting off buying (speaking of–anyone recommend a particular one?). The booties also come in several colors and are easily dressed up or down. At $100, they’re a solid buy for the price!
