You know those items that you can’t figure out how you got dressed without before owning them? Yep…this is one of those for me! I can’t even tell you how hard I searched for a striped dress that checked the following boxes: perfect fit, machine washable, majority cotton, and easily dressed up or down.
Duffield Lane came through with this striped number and it’s been my most worn dress so far this summer. Bonus points that it travels well–I took it to Thailand in April and wore it to dinner in Annapolis last weekend, where Katie and I snapped these photos on the dock behind our hotel (I actually wore it to work that Friday too…it was a comfy commuting dress for our drive over!).
I love discovering and supporting small businesses, so was really excited when I came across Duffield Lane last fall. Some of my other favorites of theirs are this red, white, and blue dress (perfect for the upcoming weekend!), this pretty ruffled dress, this striped top, and these cozy lounge bottoms. In my opinion, the dresses run large–I’m wearing an XS here and usually am a 4 in dresses. They also do free exchanges, in case you end up needing to try another size (another big plus in my book…free shipping + returns!).
Like I said before, there’s something so rejuvenating about being by the water…everyone who grew up near it says so, and I’m really starting to believe that now. Definitely makes me want to take more advantage of running alongside the Potomac or prioritizing beach trips while the weather is this warm!
