A Casual Dinner Look

Casual summer style

Heyyy friends. Starting this week is tough because this weekend was awesome. I had a Saturday Funday of sorts (no, not quite the Fraturdays in years past #college) but a bunch of us went to the 1pm Nats game, drank some beers + yard margaritas, and hung out together for the rest of the day. We went to a bar for the first Caps playoff game, still got home by 9pm, and woke up early ready to tackle Sunday…seriously the perfect kind of weekend. I never really end up taking a day fully “off” between the blog + school, so it was a fun and overdue treat even though it wasn’t productive work-wise! J and I got brunch at Tupelo Honey yesterday and had a quasi-failed attempt to pick up a few things for the apartment…turns out way more stores are closed on Easter than I thought! Some free shipping deals came through for us, though, and we snagged a couple of things from Crate & Barrel (like this utensil holder) and The Container Store.

Summer style

We shot this outfit yesterday and it made me excited to go bare-armed again! I’m a sweater girl through and through but there’s something to be said for a cute top paired with basics, like a pair of comfy jeans. Unfortunately my exact top is sold out right now but it’s J.Crew and they have a couple similar ones I love (the Carrie–Factory also has a pretty scalloped one for a great price!) so if you’re looking to pick up something versatile to wear this summer, I’d highly recommend these. They’re kind of a blank canvas that can be added to or not…easy peasy!

Hush Puppies heels

Finally, Hush Puppies sent over these sandals and they’re exactly what I need to be a little out of my comfort zone but still true to my style. Their shoes are incredibly comfortable and this pair is no exception–the footbed is well-padded so it doesn’t even feel like you’re in heels. My super narrow feet slide around a bit so I’ll be adding a little insert to help on that front! They also come in wide, if you’re someone who has trouble shopping for sandals since most have a narrower footbed :)
