This post should probably have been called “Another Striped Shirt, Vol. 12,” but instead let’s acknowledge just how easy it is to create a pulled together outfit with something so basic as a pair of pull-on shorts (#elasticwaistforthewin) and a loose striped tee. Wearing long sleeves is pretty much the worst in the summer months thanks to DC’s humidity, so I’ll take any chance I can get to pair them with shorts this time of year.
I wore this to errands and brunch at Tupelo Honey last Sunday–it was 82 degrees outside but restaurants are always chilly! There really isn’t much else to say about this outfit besides it’s easy, and you need these shorts. I picked them up last summer for under $20 and they quickly became one of my most worn pairs (the other being these in white!). J.Crew Factory only has the exact pair I’m wearing in pink and yellow but they have the 5-inch pair in this material, or a 3-inch pair in linen. Here’s hoping they restock soon!
How are your weeks looking? The next couple are going to be a blur for me, thanks to a paper + final for class, plus a fun trip to NYC at the end of next week! More to come on that but it’s going to be a good one :) In the meantime, I’m definitely planning to take advantage of all mornings and time after work…it’s something I strive to do all the time but need to be reminded of on days when bedtime isn’t as early as I’d like it to be! Who else needs 8 hours to function at their best?
