What a weekend! If you missed it, I was in NYC for Create & Cultivate this weekend–Katie and I took the train up after work on Thursday and the conference was on Saturday. It was such a fun, informative, and inspiring day…I have a recap coming (next Monday is the plan) and am excited to share more! But in the meantime, let’s talk about Friday’s outfit…
If you live on the east coast, you probably know that it poured in many places on Friday. NYC got slammed with rain but we wanted to take advantage of having an extra day in the city. Luckily Katie and I both visit New York at least a couple of times a year and didn’t have a packed agenda to try navigate…our only set plans were hitting a Mexican restaurant (Avenida Cantina, SO good…more deets coming on Wednesday). With the 100% chance of rain and temps in the low 60s, I did what I knew best: hauled my trusty Bean Boots on the Amtrak and packed my new favorite rain jacket!
It felt a little silly to be wearing winter boots in May, but my Bean Boots are lighter than my rain boots and they’re actually one of–if not the–most comfortable pair of non-sneaker footwear I own. We walked over 20k steps on Friday and it definitely didn’t feel that way! And about this anorak…you may have seen me mention it few times on Instagram stories, but it’s truly been the best thing for rainy days. I actually wore it with leggings on moving day when it was also conveniently pouring! I’m wearing a size medium and it’s roomy enough for a sweater underneath–the toggles at the bottom are also adjustable and the whole jacket packs up really small, which is obviously a plus for travel! This is the colorblock version but it also comes in black. Bonus points for the great price point: it’s just $50! Definitely makes a good graduation, Mother’s Day, or Father’s Day (here it is for men in colorblock and black) gift if you’re in the market.
