I feel like it happens every year, yet is always a surprise–fall weather isn’t actually here (for a lot of country) by this point in October. I’ll always try to wait as long as possible to swap out my closet, but finally caved and did it this weekend because realistically, the brighter clothes and sundresses aren’t going to be worn this time of year regardless of how warm it is outside. Really, all I want to do is wear flannel and jeans (or leggings) but it’s currently 74 degrees with 93% humidity and rain so unfortunately that’s not in the cards today!
The good news is that everyone seems to be shopping for fall, so we’ll all be ready when mother nature decides she’s ready. I’ve raved about L.L. Bean flannel before (like here and here), but keep adding new ones to my collection including this “Dress Gordon” print–I’m wearing a small but also have this style in a medium. The small is great for jeans and tucking into skirts, but I’ve also done the same with the medium (which provides better coverage for leggings.) For reference, I’m typically a 6 or 8 in button downs. Lucky for you, all of L.L. Bean is 20% off through tomorrow, and you get a $10 gift card with any $50 spend. Bean Boots are included, too!
Katie shot these photos post-farmers market in Richmond the other weekend (a recap of what we did is coming on Wednesday, but you can read about our wonderful stay at The Jefferson) and it’s an outfit you’ll find me in all season long…these are my favorite flats, these are my favorite jeans–I have them in two colors, and this is my favorite flannel. Also, everyone used these totes for the beach, but they’re actually called French market totes so are literally made for farmers markets! I leave mine in our living room and use it for storage when it’s not in use. My exact one is from Upcountry Living Market–Joy does great Instagram sales with vintage finds and periodically places tote orders!
IN THIS POST:

FRAME jeans via Refine (similar wash; the “Le Skinny Jeanne” is the best style! Size down, they’re stretchy but don’t stretch out with wear!)
Corso Como flats via Tuckernuck (go down a half size–they stretch)
