TGIF from springy DC! As much as I love cooler temperatures, there’s something wonderful about the first consecutive warm days of the year and that’s what we’re supposed to get (before rain and a 20 degree drop hit us on Sunday, but beggars can’t be choosers). It was a good social week…I caught up with Victoria over dinner at Sovereign on Monday, finally tried out El Paso Cafe with Katie in her neck of the woods on Tuesday. We’re heading to California after work next Friday and I can’t wait! This trip has been brewing for months and it’s finally here. Lots of links + buys that caught my eye this week are below. Happy Friday!!
This produce-section discrepancy always bothers me, but now there’s an answer! Maybe this is old news to some of you, but I had no idea why some peppers cost more than others. Plus, which ones pack more of a nutritional punch (I stopped buying the green ones a couple years ago for this reason!)
Grace interviewed a personal trainer–a lengthy but great read (with tips and tricks sprinkled throughout!) I learned so much!
I hardly ever go to Starbucks but keep saying that when I do, I’ll try the “Medicine Ball” from the secret menu. That has yet to happen, now I kind of want to try this homemade version!
Charlotte, why do you live several states away? I’d gladly take some of these Funfetti cake balls off your hands!
Sézane is at Nordstrom! Their sizing is a bit tricky, so highly recommend shopping here for free shipping + returns regardless of spend. I love this dress, these shorts, this top, and this dress for any brides-to-be!
We’ve been buying kale pesto from Trader Joe’s but I kind of want to try this recipe and make my own!
Seth Meyers’ wife gave birth to their second child in the lobby of their building earlier this week (o.m.g.) and unsurprisingly, his delivery of the tale is incredible.
A huge congratulations to Kate on her cookbook! I’ve been reading her blog for years and there’s something so special about watching an “internet friend” achieve a milestone like this. Can’t wait to cook from it this fall!
Must read: I loved this beautiful piece from Vogue on Amal Clooney. She’s known for her poise and accomplishments, but this was a really fun peek behind the scenes of her work and life with George.
Something to bookmark! Ashlee shares a step-by-step process on how to book a ticket with Chase Ultimate Rewards, since the best way to use your points is to do a transfer, rather than book directly through their portal.
I ordered these wedges and these booties at an additional 20% off (the booties came out to over 60% off the original!) and in the interest of saving a few bucks, decided to send the wedges back but kept the booties. They’re incredibly versatile, the perfect heel height (under 3″, but still a good heel), and seem to be very high quality. I love Club Monaco but since it’s on the pricey side, love taking advantage when these kinds of markdowns appear!
In an effort to fill a couple gaps in my wardrobe–in short, I’m very low on warm weather work attire–I picked up this gingham skirt from Brooks Brothers (a steal at $31; final sale but reviews say TTS, so crossing my fingers!), and a few things from J.Crew. I’m definitely taking a gamble with the Crew items because their sizes are such a tossup, but none of the items are final sale so I’ll return what doesn’t fit. This shirt in navy, this dress in black that has since sold out, and this dress are on their way to me!
