My New Summer Sandals

Despite my ill feelings towards summer–it’s my least favorite season, despite being home to my birthday, dining al fresco, and some of the best clothes–I will say that for the sake of blogging, it’s much easier to schedule photoshoots at reasonable times. Any blogger who works a traditional day job will tell you that short days means a real struggle to squeeze in photos, and while soft, overcast skies are my lighting of choice, it’s nice being able to take advantage of a 6:15am shoot without freezing our butts off. We actually took these early Monday morning to dodge the crowds + afternoon heat–a little blogging BTS for ya!

Everlane generously sent over these summer sandals and I wanted to share them ASAP before they sell out! The rest of my outfit is pretty standard around here (another reason why I can’t deem myself a “fashion blogger” and am very transparent about being an outfit repeater), and I literally wear a striped shirt with these white shorts and Jack Rogers at least once a week this time of year. I opted for the olive color because I love green but don’t have a lot of it in my closet, and I love that it goes with my favorite neutrals, navy and white! They’re made in Italy yet under $100–the quality is evident the second you open the box. I’ve worn them a couple times so far and had no break-in time, so hopefully they stay that way; I have high hopes since they’re just suede + 100% leather. I’m wearing a size 8 and feel like they run TTS.

If you have a Europe trip on the horizon or are planning to go somewhere where you’ll be doing a lot of walking but obviously still want to pack summer sandals, these are the kind of pair I’d probably recommend. Obviously it’s best to have more arch support if you’re going the distance, but sometimes you just want a versatile pair of summer sandals that fits in with the region’s style and aesthetic. While I intuitively reach for Jacks most of the time, they’re hard on your feet if you’re walking a lot because of the “thong” style–I’m happy to have an equally versatile alternative that’s better for clocking miles!

On another note, we’re heading to Dallas early tomorrow morning for my friend’s wedding! (Remember her bachelorette?) It’s going to be a packed couple of days, and the bridesmaids are wearing saris! It’s somehow the first time I’ll have one on and I’m kind of excited. This is also J’s first Indian wedding, so I can’t wait to get his reaction. I’ll be back here with a bunch of good links/finds on Friday!

Bag: Gigi New York
Earrings: J.Crew (on sale!)

While Everlane did gift me these summer sandals, this is not a sponsored post; I was not required to write about them! The brand is one I’ve loved since they launched and regularly buy things there with my own money :)

  1. I’ve genuinely been going back and forth on these for a week or so. They’re so cute!! I love a comfy sandal. Also I always wear stripes + white shorts all summer long too.
