End(ish) of Summer Finds

I’m blaming Millie for the feeling that this summer felt over at the blink of an eye, but Labor Day weekend is somehow upon us! Our friends had us over to their new place on Friday night and I went out with some girlfriends on Saturday–drinks at District Winery followed by dinner at Osteria Morini. The last couple mornings have also been wonderful and it’s been so nice taking Millie out for extra long walks. I can only imagine how much she’s going to love the ~best~ season of the year 😊.

It’s hard not to shift gears to fall fashion right now, but I’m a huge proponent of trying to fill my closet with predominately year-round fashion vs. seasonal items. Obviously that’s not possible in the way of summer dresses (especially with how much I love linen!) and shorts, but it’s a fun challenge especially when it comes to accessories, shoes, and basics. I’ve rounded up a few things that have caught my eye lately… one of my favorite fall items is also currently marked down (and usually isn’t) thanks to the additional 25% off at L.L. Bean, so start thinking about cooler temperatures just for a second if you’re trying to fill a gap in your closet!

It feels a little early to talk about flannel but my favorite style is on sale in a couple different colors–the L.L. Bean “Slightly Fitted” ones are the best. I have both smalls and mediums; both fit but the medium is best for pairing with leggings.

These shoes caught my eye when I first saw them in the spring but after someone had them at book club, I had to scoop them up myself–they’re so much better in-person! I was afraid they’d lead to blisters because the inner seam is kind of rough, but the break-in was approximately 1.5 short wears. They go in and out of stock so check back if your size isn’t available!

I’ve mentioned them in passing but Tuckernuck sells these button downs called “The Shirt” and they are the best. They have these concealed buttons to prevent gaping and the fit is great. I wear a medium!

In an effort to gradually up my PJ game, I picked up this set earlier in the summer when they were randomly heavily marked down á la classic J.Crew. They aren’t on sale right now but I’m sure they will be, like, tomorrow, but recommend them if you’re in the market for a budget set. I do prefer 100% cotton whenever possible but these are a good option if you want something that fits well, looks good, and won’t break the bank.

I mentioned these a week or two ago but recently ordered them for a “wedding [guest] shoe” since I didn’t have any appropriate sandals. They weren’t on sale–and I usually always wait for a sale–but just went for it since I’d heard such good things about the brand.

I’m cutting to the chase on this one because it’s a pullover that’s been mentioned here a (large) handful of times…but it’s marked down and an extra 25% off right now! I’ve worn it year-round and love it just as much as leggings as I do with denim shorts. A true wardrobe staple!

Tuckernuck has been designing their own jewelry and the pieces are so good! I used to be pretty into statement earrings back in high school, then pretty much exclusively wore pearl studs throughout college, and now love rotating in statements, probably since I gravitate towards more neutral clothing. This pair of earrings comes in three colors (though I’m partial to the tortoise) and looks even better on!
