Dressing professionally in the summer can be tough… wearing a rigid outfit of a blazer and/or pencil skirt in 90+ degree heat sounds about as appealing as a root canal. Many people find this hard to believe, but despite growing up in Texas, I do pretty horribly with the heat. Anyone else who gets overheated easily: I feel ya. Worn here for casual Friday, this top quickly became a star in my closet due to its versatile and universally flattering nature. It’s food baby friendly, too!
DC humidity is here to stay for the next few months and while my office is a fairly lax iteration of a business casual dress code, it’s a constant struggle to look pulled together in the summer. Couple the outdoor heat with blasting air conditioning and you may as well pack your parka and a blanket for your desk.
Since I strive to build a wardrobe made up of pieces that can be worn year round and not just for one season, this Buckley K top had to be mine (and because I’ve been following the brand for awhile and love their simple, classic silhouettes. Check out the rest of their stuff here!). I can safely say it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made and is also the perfect blank slate to add a printed scarf/shawl in the office or at a chilly restaurant.
