I’m Loving: Transitional Basics

A few things I’ve been loving (and shopping for) lately…if the colors indicate anything, I’m not totally ready for spring but would settle for continuing to incorporate navy and darker hues into my spring wardrobe! What have you been shopping for/eyeing lately?

L.L. BEAN COTTON V-NECK SWEATERRaise your hand if you also love shopping the men’s section! I’m always envious of L.L. Bean’s men’s sweater selection and finally decided treat myself to a transitional piece I can wear in the winter, spring, and fall. I’m hoping the cotton will make things light and wearable as it starts warming up!

KATE SPADE ON PURPOSE LEATHER TOTE: A classic leather tote that has a nice story behind it…a great gift item for an soon-to-be recent grad or working professional! It also comes in a pretty red, if bright colors are more your thing.

M.GEMI ‘PROPRIO’ PUMPS: I am so excited to finally dip my toes into the M.Gemi game! These classic pumps (in my mind, the perfect heel height at 3.25″) come in a couple different colors and will without a doubt turn into my most-worn pair of heels when they arrive next week. I’m also entertaining a pair of their loafers…and how good are these printed heels? Learn more about the brand and take $40 off your purchase with code dutia413.

ELIZA J SCALLOPED POCKET DRESSI’ve always been drawn to the girly simplicity of Eliza J dresses, so it was no surprise that this spring number was one of theirs. The style is classic, it has pockets (!!) and the well-placed scalloped detailing seals the deal.

TUCKERNUCK CLUTCH: Honestly, this clutch wasn’t my favorite when I first saw it, but that changed when I remembered that straw-like items are one of my favorite ways to bring texture to warmer weather clothes, which in my wardrobe, are often cotton (#breathable). It’s a steal at $24, comes in multiple colors, and would be adorable with white jeans and a simple tee.

J.CREW CABLE KNIT SWEATER: Part of J.Crew’s sort of comeback this year…this sweater. I wouldn’t pay full price since I have more sweaters than my current storage allows, but now that it’s on sale, and since my most recent J.Crew sweater purchases (got 2 colors) turned out to wash well without pilling…

  3. What a great line up! My only problem with clutches is that I do not like to carry stuff in my hands.

I totally get that, Tricia! It took me awhile to get used to clutches and there are still many times when I skip on them for something that sits on my shoulder :)
