Bootie season is almost upon us and I am SO EXCITED! This is the first year in awhile where I’ve felt like the selection has been good (i.e. in line with my preferences)–fewer embellishments, modest heel heights, a well-shaped toe, and versatile colors.

My go-to retailer for boots is Nordstrom (obviously), and I’d previously bought a pair at the late Piperlime (RIP). However, I always find myself browsing Zappos, Bloomingdales, and actually Old Navy (has anyone tried them?? That’s where these are from!). Also, you know how people say it’s better to shop for winter gear in colder places? Well similarly, it’s no surprise that UK-based retailers have an insane amount of good boot options. I remember going into House of Fraser as a child visiting London so when they reached out about their ankle bootie selection, it had to be shared! There are a couple above, and while in the non-bootie realm, had to include what my dream boots look like…I’ve seriously been looking for a pair like this for three years. Note that HOF does ship to over 140 countries–free over about $160 to the US– but return costs are your responsibility…just be sure to read up before you order! They carry tons of well-known international brands, so it’s a good place to search for everything in one place (and learn about some brands we don’t get to shop on this side of the pond!).
I’m in the market for some new black booties this year, and luckily it looks like there are plenty of options. Still TBD on what pair I’ll spring for because I’m trying to decide whether to dip into the flat bootie world or stay with a bit of a heel…so we’ll see! These came home with me this summer, but I’m thinking of at least going with something a bit shorter…perhaps this pair!
Any booties you recommend (or don’t), and any retailers you’d recommend checking out?
