One of my favorite parts about blogging is trying new things and being able to share my thoughts and experiences with you guys. While skincare is something I still have a lot to learn about, I have been trying out some products and brands that are finally ready to make their debut over here now that I’ve used them for a few consecutive weeks! I’m always partial to cosmetic brands that prioritize skincare (rather than just pretty makeup products), and have two new goodies you’ve gotta know about.
First off: IT Cosmetics. They were at The Blog Societies conference back in August and until recently, only sold products through their website. They work with dermatologists and plastic surgeons to create their formulas and are sensitive skin-friendly. Good news: some IT products are now available at Sephora! I’ll only talking about the skincare products today but they have a bunch of makeup, too (for now I’ll vouch for their mascara–it’s amazing–but still need to try the under eye concealer!).
Second is Cosmedix (who was also at the conference), which focuses on the science behind natural skincare. More on their website, but the higher price tags (though not terrible given the rest of the market) are entirely worth the splurge. Obviously everyone’s skin reacts differently, but the fact that the Cosmedix products I’ve used haven’t led to a breakout is a huge win.
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream: Finding a good eye cream has been on my list for awhile, but I never really understood what made one better than another. My thought was that as long as it doesn’t burn, it’s good, right? Well, this one’s a keeper…it’s gentle and within a couple of days, my eyes looked less puffy. Jury’s still out on the dark circle front because mine are hereditary and are worse than most people’s. Many women left positive reviews about how this cream handles dark circles, so it may work well for you . A little goes a long way–I’ve been using this for two months and have barely made a dent in the jar!
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores: So the reviews are kind of mixed on this one, but I’d say it’s worth a shot if you’re looking for a primer that’s designed to shrink your pores before applying makeup. It does go on a bit greasy, but I just leave it on for a few minutes before applying makeup and make sure to wash my hands with soap after application. Also, a little does go a long way! If you’re worried about the greasiness, go to your local Sephora and get a sample first! (PS: The only other pore minimizer I’ve tried is this one in ‘Invisible’; it’s been years but I remember loving it).
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup: I stupidly didn’t take a photo of this because the jar is sitting in my shower–a shame on the photo front because this is hands down my favorite skincare product of the moment! If you struggle with removing all traces of makeup (I definitely do…eyeliner seems to cling to my dark circles), this will do the trick. It’s basically a thick balm that you spread all over your face either with your hands or a washcloth. It basically cleanses your skin as it removes makeup and is gentle around the eyes. Consistency wise it’s kind of oily upon application but it won’t leave behind a residue, which is great. Highly, highly recommend!
Cosmedix Gentle Cleanser: The name says it all…this stuff is really gentle and goes on almost like Cetaphil. You can use it with a Clarisonic, too, which adds an exfoliating component if that’s what you’re looking for.
Cosmedix Affirm Antioxidant Firming Serum: It seems like everyone started obsessing over serum in the past couple of years! They’re designed to enrich your skin with nutrients, hydrate, help combat acne, and generally just help achieve a glowing complexion. The downside is that serums are generally pricey, but the upside is that you only need a tiny amount each day. This is the first serum I’ve tried and I think it’s pretty good! My skin feels firmer and more hydrated whenever I use it, which is generally both in the morning and at night.
Sooo there we go–more coming soon once I try some other products! Anyone have any recommendations as we get into dry skin season?

IT Cosmetics and Cosmedix gifted me products without the obligation to try and post about them. All opinions are my own–hopefully you’ll love them as much as I do! :)
