My Favorite Summer Dress

Persifor Riveria dress

We’re definitely in sandals and shift dress season (time to re-break in all our favorite sandals, ugh!) and I’m so excited to share this outfit with you guys because it features what is hands down my favorite summer dress, ever. Not only is it blue + white, but it’s also a shift, which is pretty much the most flattering and forgiving silhouette–the most comfortable when the temperatures and humidity rise. It’s safe to say that I’m pretty much obsessed, and I’d imagine may of you are, too!

Toile summer dress

If you’ve been reading for a bit, you’ve likely heard me talk about Persifor…the brand is a personal favorite and I have like three dresses + a tunic, as well as a duffle. While this particular dress isn’t machine wash like the rest of her collection–which, by the way, helps justify the higher price tag for everyday pieces…#nodrycleaners!–the fabric quality and workmanship are incredible. First off, Alex creates the best prints, and this dress is 97% cotton, making it perfect for hot days yet still makes you look incredibly pulled together. This particular piece does need to be dry cleaned, but it’s easily the best looking summer dress I have in my closet. It also requires minimal accessorizing thanks to the pattern, which makes it so easy to wear! I’m in a size small and am usually a 4.

Ashlee and I shot these photos on the prettiest, yet spottiest sunny Sunday last weekend…it was Mother’s Day and gorgeous out, but a reminder that I love, love shooting in overcast light. Any bloggers out there agree? As beautiful as the golden hour is for some, it just doesn’t do it for me. A controversial opinion, I know!

I love that dress! It reminds me of Lilly but less “loud” with the blue and white. Perfect for summer!
