I was originally going to post a holiday-friendly drink recipe today, but wanted to share this outfit because nearly everything I’m wearing is currently seriously marked down–thanks, holiday sales!
L.L. Bean is 25% off through tonight with code HOLIDAY (plus, you still get a $10 gift card with any $50 purchase), and it applies to Bean Boots, too! You can get the standard pair for under $100 (a steal) and my pair, which is worth the extra cost if you live in a very cold climate, is marked down to $150. My turtleneck is marked down to under $40 (it has cashmere in it, which I obviously love)–unfortunately many sizes are sold out but winter is still young and they may do a restock, so keep an eye on it if your size isn’t available.
A sizing note on the sweater…I’m wearing a small and it’s quite snug–I’d order a medium if I did it again because the neck is where it’s more fitted, but most of the sweaters in my closet are slightly oversized so this is a nice change. You can’t see them, but I’m also wearing these socks, which are my new go-to with Bean Boots. I also have these but since my boots are the Thinsulate version, the wool socks can end up being unnecessarily warm if I’m planning on leaving the boots on for an extended period of time. If you have the regular boots, I’d say it’s worth picking up both pairs since the boots don’t have a warm lining and the wool would be helpful for cold days.
Also, every 20 or 30-something in DC seems to have this coat, but I’m here to say that it lives up to the hype–it’s sold out in this tan color, but is 40% off with free shipping today…that’s the price I paid for it last year and haven’t seen it drop below that. I’m wearing a size a size 4, which is my normal dress size but I typically go up to a 6 or 8 in outerwear. Definitely pick it up if you’ve been on the fence!
Now that the fun stuff is out of the way, hope everyone had a nice weekend…DC has its first snow (!!!!), and I squeezed in a lot of friend time–cookie decorating on Friday night, brunch at Agora on Saturday (highly recommend), we had a couple friends over for spaghetti + meatballs on Saturday, and Katie and I made a long overdue trip to Cactus Catina yesterday. Christmas movies were on in the background and we had the tree lit for the better portion of the weekend…good food, friends, snow and the best time of the year–no complaints here!
