Friday Things

It’s felt like forever since the last normal Friday post, but it also doesn’t feel like the end of July so we’ll take it, I guess! I spent the past two weekends out of town and am excited to be home for this one; I’m grabbing dinner with a friend tonight, Millie gets her first haircut tomorrow (!!) and we’re having a couple friends over for dinner tomorrow night (the plan is to make stuffed shells!). Other than a couple workouts, it should be pretty low key and filled with productivity in the way of blog work, freelance, and cleaning. Hope you have a great one, whatever you’re up to!

P.S. I snapped this pic of Millie this morning on our walk…her little tongue! I die.

We’ve made these steel cut oats a few times and I highly recommend the recipe! We’ll double it if we’re making it for the entire week (for the two of us) and I love that they’re so easy to reheat…I just add a splash almond milk before microwaving. If you like steel cut oats but don’t want to deal with making them from scratch daily (which would take forever!), this is a good one to try!

Meg writes so many good posts and this one is definitely a favorite–why she unsubscribed from J.Crew emails. Whether or not you’re opted into several retailer emails and whether or not you’re good at exercising self control when it comes to online shopping, I think everyone can relate to her sentiments on some level. The comment section is also worth a read!

Katie is my Virginia expert (though she is moving to DC in a couple of months…finally!)–she rounded up five hidden gems in Arlington and I can personally back up El Paso Café–yum.

Combining two of my favorite alcoholic beverages: sparkling rosé + Pimm’s Cup.

Counterintuitive to Meg’s post, but most of the basics I love in the Nordstrom sale are still available! J snagged these sneakers in “brick.”

I’ve been reading Rosie’s blog for years and  years and am not at all surprised that her wedding was right out of a fairy tale! The day-of photos are absolutely stunning.

Krista is engaged! The sweet story from Andrew’s perspective, and then from Krista’s side.

A roundup of NYC coffee shops–Maman is one of my favorites!

The six items I’m keeping from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (and my top 10 picks, if you’re interested).

The first post from Bermuda featuring this Duffield Lane top that I’ll be wearing for summers to come.

Chic storage baskets for your home and how I use them.

My two favorite podcasts.

Do you prefer e-readers or physical books?

My own summer essentials–I wear and use these constantly!
