Are you sticking around town for the long weekend? We are, and I couldn’t be happier with that decision! We’re out of town next Thursday – Sunday so it’ll be nice to have three full days at home. Our plans are minimal, too, and I have a massive pile of books I’m really excited about and just want to spend hours reading and cuddling with Millie, who doesn’t actually like cuddling that much. (As an aside, how good does she look in that the above picture? J snapped it the other day and I immediately got over the messy background because it is that cute.) Hope you have a great weekend and safe travels if you’re headed out of town!
LABOR DAY SALES:
There are so many, but here are my favorites!
SEPHORA: They’re doing their annual sale where you get between 10-20% off sitewide depending on what kind of “Insider” you are. You can sign up for the program and automatically become the lowest tier–which is what I am–and take 10% off. I another bottle of my everyday cleanser, and my aesthetician recommended this sunscreen and this face cream.
Along similar lines, Urban Decay is discontinuing their original Naked Palette and they’re half off! Sadly sold out in most places but Macy’s still has them. It’s the only eye shadow palette I have and if you’re into neutrals, will probably be the only one you need. I snagged another since they apparently last 2-3 years if unopened!
J.CREW: 40% off your purchase. There are some exclusions, but the cocoon coat is included (I got one a couple years ago and love it) and is a great price! Factory is 50% off and I wear these low sandals at work early every day! Also I want this cozy sweater.
+ Katie’s home tour before she moves and we become neighbors!
+ I love a good monster cookie but haven’t had a homemade one in ages. I’m hoping to change that next time I have an occasion to bake (since having a massive batch of them at home probably isn’t the best idea when you possess zero self control.)
+ A fun inside look at how the royal family does gift giving. I wasn’t totally surprised that this is the case, but love the informality around the holidays.
+ An old article that I recently came across and it’s been one of my favorite reads as of late–what happens with lost and unclaimed airline luggage. Is it weird that I want to head to Scottsboro?
+ Nothing feels more seasonally-appropriate (or will soon, anyway) than a fig cocktail.
+ A wonderfully heartwarming read: Mackenzie interviews her grandmother.
+ This DC-based children’s company called Pineapple Sunshine reached out to me and I wanted to share for those who are in the market for really cute baby clothes. Everything is adorable, especially this onesie!
+ Victoria opens up about therapy and answers questions she’s received. I appreciated her candidness about a subject that’s too often viewed as taboo. Highly recommend whether or not you’ve been yourself!

Catching up on basically a month of content!
