Hello again, friends! I’m happy to be back–I had a nice, productive yet also relaxing week and start my new job today. I basically went to Orangetheory a bunch, read, worked on a lot of backend things for the blog, and crossed off some longstanding items on my to-do list that weren’t particularly time sensitive but needed to get done. On Friday, Katie and one of my good friends from college (I introduced them earlier this year and they hit it off immediately) headed up to Annapolis for the night and drove to the Eastern Shore–St. Michaels and Tilghman Island–on Saturday. We got back yesterday afternoon and are already planning our next trip together :) More to come (what we did/where we ate/where we stayed) next week, but it makes my heart so happy when besties from two different stages of life come together ?
So it’s officially October and we’ve finally felt glimpses of fall here in DC, which makes me feel ready to jump back into outfit posts. I actually wore a cashmere sweater with shorts all day Saturday and was comfortable, which is yet another reminder why these couple of weeks kick off my favorite time of year. I love the couple weeks where you can wear shorts with long sleeves or light sweaters and knowing that the height of fall is just round the corner makes me so happy. I’ve already been baking for the season (we had these last week!) and have switched my closet over despite having a few more 80 degree days on the horizon.
Most of my stripes–and there are many–are in the form of cotton tees, but this Duffield Lane sweater is a recent addition to my closet and is an easy piece to dress up or down. It’s incredibly soft and is a cashmere blend, so it’ll transition well into winter. I’m wearing a small and it fits perfectly–I’d say it runs a little large, so consider sizing down if you’re between sizes.
Anyway, one of the things I finally got together last week is another reader survey–my last one was about two years ago. I’d love for you to take it–it’s pretty quick!–regardless of how regularly you visit this blog. I’ve been brainstorming holiday content and since 2019 is essentially around the corner in terms of an editorial calendar and planning out content, it would mean a lot to have your opinions, good and bad, as I put things together. Thank you in advance for taking the time–and if surveys aren’t your thing, feel free to drop me a line at email@example.com.
