Friday Things + What to Buy in the Serena & Lily Sale

TGIF, friends! The best part of today is that I needed a pullover when walking the dog this morning so fall definitely appears to be here to stay. I hate the heat and highs in the 60s are my temperature of preference, so am excited for a low key weekend of long walks with Millie, hopefully trying out a new restaurant tomorrow, and a couple of workouts. I gave myself an entire week off of plans minus hitting the gym twice, and it was a much needed respite from overbooking myself last week. I’m feeling much more rested and productive, which is always a positive going into a new season!

A few things…

SERENA & LILY SALE

Serena & Lily is having their Friends & Family Sale with 20% off sitewide (using code HOMELOVE through Monday). Their pieces are usually an investment but ones that’ll last forever. Their barstools had been on my wishlist for years and when we moved into a place with a breakfast bar, I did my due diligence and looked for alternatives at a lower price point. Apparently bar and counter stools are expensive across the board! We decided to splurge on these since we don’t have a table and these would be our primary dining seating. We got the red ones that were on closeout (and have since been discontinued), but I’d definitely pay the F&F sale price for these if you’re in the market! Everyone comments on how comfortable they are they make a wonderful statement in our small space.

I’ve rounded up a few more picks below, but have to specifically call out this bar/side cart–it’s even better in person (Meg has it!) and is a great size if you’re in a smaller space. There are so many things that I’d love to invest in when we live in a larger home, but 540 square feet makes it difficult to expand much :) For now, I’ll stick with browsing the accessories–our summery accent pillow covers are S&L (old and currently unavailable), linens, and decor!

P.S. Serious dog bed goals.

OF NOTE…

+ If you’re in New England, see if Kate’s book tour is coming to a store near you!

+ All the photos from Princess Eugenie’s wedding this morning–another spectacular sight from Windsor!

+ I’m very happy to have this guide to picking the best apple based on the recipe at hand–I typically use gala or honeycrisp for everything! The only time I’ll follow any kind of guidance is if I’m at an orchard and they make recommendations.

+ The schedule for Hallmark’s 2018 Christmas movies.

+ It makes me sad that American Cheese isn’t as much of a “thing” anymore! Who else grew up with a package or two of Kraft in the fridge at all times? I also really love it on scrambled eggs, in case you’re feeling nostalgic, too.

+ L.L. Bean has 20% off footwear, clothing, and outerwear with code AUTUMN through Monday–basically the best trio of things! This is a great time to snag Bean Boots (how to pick what style is right for you), the best pullover of all time, another one of my favorite pullovers–a quilted one, and the best vest I own. Also, there is nothing cozier than a pair of Wicked Good Slippers!

ON THE BLOG:

+ I’d love if you took my quick reader survey! Thanks to everyone who already has, or sent in feedback on Instagram!

+ One of my most requested posts of all time! What I buy at the grocery store (our groceries–for two people–are usually around $50/week!)

+ Checked off a huge thing from my bucket list!

+ What’s been going on around here + a little life update.

+ SO excited about this one! A quick chat with a blogger friend turned cookbook author…you’ll want to add this book to your shelves!

+ Recapping a girls weekend to St. Michaels, MD.

Skinny minnie in that pic! On another note, we ALWAYS had Kraft singles in the fridge! Peeling that plastic wrapper off one slice at a time! haha And look, we both turned out perfectly fine!

Happy Friday (and Happy Fall Weather!!!)!

Hahaha I love it! I feel like a hypocrite because I definitely used “nice” cheese to make grilled cheese tonight but in my defense, Trader Joe’s didn’t have Kraft…
