Today’s gift guide is my own “Christmas wishlist,” even though I don’t actually need any of this. J and I are capping ourselves at $75 each, which makes things interesting (the shopping part is always extra fun this way!). That being said, this type of post is a wishlist of sorts and ends up being a random compilation of things that have caught my eye easily, have been on my radar for awhile, or live on my longer term wishlist. I definitely didn’t take price into account when putting this together (ahem) but if you’re looking to splurge for someone, there are a couple good ones in here!
ONE: New York Times Cooking subscription ($40) // TWO: Boot ornament ($13) // THREE: Lululemon ‘Align’ Leggings ($98) // FOUR: Dudley Stephens boatneck fleece ($138) // FIVE: Le Creuset dutch oven ($380) // SIX: Rothy’s flats ($145) // SEVEN: NARS matte pencil ($27) // EIGHT: Minnetonka moccasins ($40) // NINE: Barbour dog bed ($69)
+ NEW YORK TIMES COOKING SUBSCRIPTION: We have so many cookbooks that I’m not letting myself subscribe right this second, but I’ve been perusing NYT Cooking more and more lately and while I have a digital subscription to the main site, it limits how much Cooking access you have. Full access to the platform gets you all the recipes plus videos and a recipe book-like feature. If you’re shopping for someone who isn’t looking for “stuff,” (or lives in a small space) this could be a contender!
+ BOOT ORNAMENT: I mean…how cute is this? L.L. Bean boots are my favorite and this ornament makes me smile. It’s a steal on Amazon and would make a cute stocking stuffer or gift for a coworker!
+ LULULEMON LEGGINGS: Everyone seems to rave about the Lululemon Align leggings and while I’m a huge fan of my Zellas, am tempted to try them especially for more everyday or yoga wear vs. a high intensity workout. The price is a little steep but given that I live in leggings outside of the office, feel like the price per wear would turn reasonable very quickly.
+ DUDLEY STEPHENS BOATNECK FLEECE: My love for Dudley Stephens’ turtlenecks isn’t new and I love the new boatneck style! I’m already thinking about adding it to my collection since I wear the Cobble Hill and Park Slope at least weekly. For sizing reference, I have a medium in both (the small was snug up top/on my shoulders). While they’re among the pricier things in my closet, they’re also getting the most wear and hold up in the wash so well. I wash mine on cold and air dry!
+ LE CREUSET DUTCH OVEN: A splurge but something that’s on my “one day” wishlist–it’s the ultimate dutch oven! We’re so tight on kitchen space but this one’s pretty enough to live on the stove and opens up a whole new realm of recipes to cook.
+ ROTHY’S FLATS: I’ve been intrigued by Rothy’s for a couple of years after seeing my former coworker wear her pair almost daily! They’ve picked up in popularity recently after Meghan Markle was spotted in them and not only are they made from recycled materials, but they’re machine washable! My feet sweat more than my nice flats would like so being able to wash these is a huge selling point to me. They’re on the pricey side yet incredibly practical and come in so many colors + styles.
+ NARS LIP PENCIL: This lip color has been high on my list for awhile and I’m honestly not sure why I haven’t bought it yet! I think the number of color options intimidates me and for some reason haven’t gone into the store to try different ones. A huge part of why I don’t wear brighter lip colors is that they come off easily, so but I realize I need to put in the time to find something that holds for more than a couple of hours.
+ MINNETONKA MOCCASINS: My Wicked Good Slippers are reserved for indoor use but based on how often I’m stepping out for something quick–walking to pilates, taking Millie out for a short walk, etc.–want to get a pair of shoes that I can slip on and off easily. I’ve been stepping out in flip flops or rainboots (when it’s not raining) and would prefer not to do either of those things! I had a pair of Minnetonkas in high school and loved them–they’re a steal at $40, too.
+ BARBOUR DOG BED: This one’s on my own list because Millie obviously couldn’t care less about what her bed looks like, but I’ve always joked about getting my future dog a Barbour bed. Knock on wood, but she hasn’t tried to destroy her current one and I’m thinking it may be time for an upgrade (for the sake of ~decor~ ya know? Plus, she’s outgrown her’s 😫).
P.S. More gift ideas!
