Happy Thanksgiving week! I had the best weekend with a winery trip all day Saturday with some of my blogger turned life besties, major reorganization and cleaning! at home yesterday, and capping off the weekend with Friendsgiving, and am getting ready to fly home to Dallas tomorrow. The plan is to have a productive evening and morning before we head out by working on some more gift guides and getting our place ready for Christmas decorations the day we get back! I’m going to have a couple more gift guides go up tomorrow + Wednesday, take Thursday off, and be back Friday for Black Friday + Small Business Saturday sales. If you’re heading somewhere this week, safe travels–I hope you enjoy a few days with ones you love (or a great vacation, if that’s your plan instead)!
I’m really excited to share this outfit with you guys today because I picked up this Devon Baer top at Tuckernuck a couple years ago on super sale and never ended up shooting it! Their pieces are beautiful silks (they make great summery ones, too) and while they’re typically out of my budget at full price, they do go on sale at the end of the season and if they are in your budget, are basically the ideal classy holiday tops. (If you’re in DC, I got mine in the Tuckernuck sample sale.) While I’m most often a neutrals girl, I love having a couple of statement pieces like this that easily dress up a pair of dark jeans or black pants for a dressier look with minimal accessorizing required. This outfit is pretty office-friendly but would also work well for a more casual holiday party or dinner. The downside is having to dry clean the top (I hand washed it last year and you can still see some wrinkles–oops) but hopefully you can make it through the height of the season with some steam/Febreze :)
J.Crew also brought this bow back and also released a Factory version, and the latter looks identical to the pricier Crew style but is available in fewer colorways. I think it’s perfect for the holidays and is an easy way to add something wintery/seasonal to most outfits. It comes in a couple other colors, too–I love the green!
