I’m going to attribute this to having started a new job in October, but it doesn’t feel like 2018 is ending in 10 days. I feel like I’ve done a pretty good job embracing the holiday season but something about it felt especially quick and also abrupt and I’m not sure why! We’re heading to Massachusetts tomorrow (with Millie…it’s her first flight. Please wish us luck!) and will be back in DC before New Year’s Eve. We decided to host after I was telling friends I’d rather be home with Millie than leave my house, so a few good friends are coming to us for heavy apps + drinks and to ring in the new year. I’m usually pretty apathetic about NYE but am actually excited about how this one is playing out!
I’ll be back in the new year (you can follow along on Instagram in the meantime!) and hope all of you get a nice break from the busyness of the everyday, indulge in good food, and have a great time with family and/or friends. It means so much that you read my blog in any capacity and I can’t wait to share more in 2019!
+ One of my favorite blog posts—my friend Meg is planning not to shop for herself (or her home—easier said than done) in 2019! If you’re looking to declutter or pare down your spending/impulse buying in the new year, this is a must-read. I’ve done a couple months of no shopping and it’s a wonderful feeling…I’m not planning to go a year but am still excited for some great takeaways.
+ A great read on the monetization of Meghan Markle and how brands have capitalized on the Duchess wearing their pieces.
+ James Corden, Emily Blunt, and Lin Manuel Miranda do 12 musicals in 22 minutes–this one’s guaranteed to draw smiles!
+ On a similar note, Emily Blunt is in December’s Vogue and talks about the new Mary Poppins (and takes over for Anna Wintour).
ON THE BLOG:
It’s been so gift guide heavy but I also talked about my holiday traditions (and how they’ve been changing) and shared this Maple Bourbon Pimms recipe. Also, if you’re in the DC-area over the next few days, a bunch of holiday festivities in Washington!
