What to Buy in the Sephora Sale

Sephora sale picks

It probably doesn’t surprise you that I’m no beauty and skincare whiz, but I do have a few tried and true favorites that I want to share in conjunction with the annual Sephora sale that’s happening now! I’m only an “Insider” (the lowest tier–you just sign up for it, so anyone can be a member with no minimum spend required) so get to take 10% off my purchase, but if you’re in a higher tier you got earlier access and up to 20% off…lucky!

These are 12 items I own and love, and at the end are the three (new to me!) things I purchased in the sale! 10% off isn’t much percentage wise, but many beauty items never get marked down so this is a good time to try out something new or replenish your favorites! Sephora also has a very generous return policy–if you use something and aren’t a fan, you can still take it back. It definitely motivates me to be more adventurous in what I’ll try!

ONE: Urban Decay Naked3 Palette // TWO: Coola face sunscreen // THREE: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment // FOUR: Origins Eye Doctor // FIVE: NARS Blush // SIX: T3 hairdryer // SEVEN: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream // EIGHT: FOREO Mini // NINE: Invisibobble hair ties // TEN: IT Cosmetics Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm // ELEVEN: // TWELVE: IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream with SPF 50+

Urban Decay Naked3 Palette: I have the older version of the Naked eyeshadow palette but they’re wonderful if you’re looking for a one stop shop of neutral shades! This is currently the only eye shadow I own and other than wishing I had something small for my purse on occasion (literally stopped mid-writing this post and purchased this!), it’s the only one I plan to use. Eyeshadow isn’t a daily thing for me and I don’t go through it quickly, but that didn’t stop me from scooping up a second original Naked Palette when it was heavily marked down before getting discontinued.

Coola face sunscreen: I’m not going to harp on the importance of wearing SPF daily because it’s old news, but wear.SPF.daily! My aesthetician Kayla (I go here and can’t recommend her enough) suggested this one from Coola and I’ve been using it for months. I like how light it goes on–it doesn’t feel sticky or leave a residue–and it’s the last thing I put on before any makeup (so I go serum, Coola, and whatever makeup I’m wearing…I don’t wear moisturizer during the day unless my skin is really dry. Hopefully that’s not bad, haha!)

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment: One of my two favorite tinted lip balms! (The other is this from Origins, which sadly isn’t available at Sephora so isn’t on sale.) I wear it several times a week and love how hydrating it is–if you aren’t a lipstick on the regular person, it provides the perfect amount of color! I have it in Sugar Rosé.

Origins Eye Doctor: Kayla said I didn’t need to wear eye cream regularly (the pores around my eyes were actually clogging…gross) but a couple winters ago I had super dry, flaky skin around my eyes and used this daily! It goes on so cool and is really refreshing, plus the price is reasonable..so many eye creams are really expensive!

NARS Blush: There’s a reason NARS’ blush in ‘Orgasm’ has a cult following! I don’t wear blush regularly but picked it up in last year’s sale. It’s a great option if you’re looking for something understated and don’t know where to start (particularly if you just plan to have one type in your makeup drawer).

T3 hairdryer: I bought myself a T3 hairdryer when I got my new job last year and it’s a game changer! My old Conair would definitely dry my hair but the T3 takes a fraction of the time and legitimately leaves behind shinier, healthier locks. If you’ve considered splurging on a hairdryer, it’s worth it–I’d never considered myself to be someone who traveled with her hair dryer, but I even took mine to my parents house when we visited last weekend!

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream: Another Kayla recommendation! If you’re planning to use this for your face like I do, just buy the small tube…it lasts forever! I got mine in the fall and seem to have only made a small dent. I used to buy Dr. Jart+ which was great, but it was $40 a tube and I’d go through nearly two in a year. The First Aid is $12 and will last much longer! Plus, it’s under 30z so is perfect for travel and can be used as a body cream, too.

FOREO Mini: I used to use a Clarisonic but instantly became a FOREO convert after trying it for the first time over two years ago. It stays charged for nearly a year and is easy to wash with mild soap–no replacement brushes required!–and cleans your skin while giving a gentle massage. I use it with my cleanser at night and am always alarmed at how much makeup it removes!

Invisibobble hair ties: I’ve written about these before but they’re great if you want a hair tie that’s discreet but doesn’t leave behind creases. They aren’t my favorite for high impact workouts since my hair is kind heavy, but they’re perfect for everyday wear and I’ve seen other people wear them at the gym!

IT Cosmetics Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm: If you’ve been in the market for a cleansing balm, I love this one! I always use it when I’ve worn a full face of makeup since it feels like that requires so much more scrubbing and cleansing to remove every last bit. I was gifted a couple tubs but would definitely buy it again!

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser: My everyday cleanser! I love how gentle it is and the fact that it’s one of the few cleansers that’s never irritated my skin must mean it’s a wonder product :) Exaggeration, but you get my drift! Bonus points that it removes makeup, too.

IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream with SPF 50+: I’ve been using this CC+ cream for nearly two years and love that it provides a little more coverage than others like it! The one downside is that it has some yellow undertones so I have to be really careful with the shade and how much I apply, but find it easy to blend and even out with powder if needed.

just had to replenish my cleanser a couple of weeks ago and don’t feel like storing another since it lasts me so long (I’ve stopped cleansing in the mornings per Kayla’s recommendation, so only use it at night) but in addition to the eyeshadow palette I mentioned above, I snagged this lip sleeping mask which sounds gimmicky but according to Sydney + the reviews, seems worth a shot. I moisturize a lot but still have dry lips and would love to see how this helps. Indie Lee products have been on my radar since listening to Indie on Bad on Paper, and I figured this sale was a good excuse to try the I-Recover Mind & Body Gel I’d been considering! My muscles ache unreasonably long post-workout and after a long day, and this is supposed to work wonders.

Did you pick up anything in the Sephora sale? Any notable restocks of things you swear by?!
