(Yes, it’s Monday and not Wednesday–I have another post coming that’s coordinated with a few others, so sharing this a couple days early 🙂)
Something I noticed soon after getting engaged was that I currently own zero white dresses! Two of our close friends are organizing an engagement party for us next month and I’m on the hunt for something festive that won’t break the bank. I’d love to be able to rewear it for non-wedding related festivities so am aiming for comfort and versatility! Here’s the thing…does it need to be white? I feel like I’ve seen a handful of brides-to-be in non-white dresses for wedding-related festivities and I kind of like the idea.
If I’m going the white route, I really want to stay under $100 unless it’s for something groundbreakingly perfect that can be reworn. I ordered this and this and hope one works…they both look a little short so I ordered two sizes to try. The engagement part is at a slightly upscale-casual Mexican restaurant so I don’t need to be dressed up on the location’s account as much for the occasion itself!
Here are a bunch that caught my eye–all under $200! If you’re also in the market for white dresses, hopefully this is helpful.
Here’s the big question: Does this dress really need to be white? I considered a Rent the Runway rental and so many people in short, white styles wore them to their engagement parties, plus everyone (myself included, here, clearly) talks about brides wearing white for everything! (And just an FYI, I’m definitely wearing a white dress at my wedding…I like tradition!) Writing this post actually got me thinking…seeing as I’m trying to invest in something I can rewear several times down the road, I’m almost inclined to go with a non-white option. Please share any thoughts + experiences below!
