Friday Things

The past couple of weeks have been really busy with work and while I’ve felt a bit underwater at times, am very grateful to have really fun work on my plate and am happy to be putting in the extra hours right now. I’ve never really felt bored during quarantine (chalk it up to being an only child) and other than the emotional weight of every day feeling like Groundhog Day, feel like I’ve been able to pass the time productively with everything from closet cleanouts and bathroom scrubbing to needlepointing, reading magazines, and binging on Gossip Girl for the third time.

That being said, I’m hoping to end the workday an hour early today to get in a workout and make a cocktail, and am really excited to finally try Emilie’s for dinner! It was high on my list before quarantine began and they were only doing curbside pickup until recently. They’re on the other side of town and we don’t have a car, but I’m happy they’re doing delivery and also have a grocery option to fill some gaps in our produce stock. Hope you’re hanging in there and have a good one!

OF NOTE…

+ Claire recommended this crab cake recipe to me and it did not disappoint! (DC friends, we got our crab meat from Bar Charley–they’re doing a great grocery pickup + delivery!)

+ Mackenzie’s interview with her mom was one of my favorite recent reads lately–read parts one and two.

+ I recently went back to my Texas roots and embraced Ranch Water–highly, highly recommend!

+ My friend shared these rocks glasses in a group chat and they’re one of the greatest things I’ve seen for sale in awhile! #TeamFauci

+ I love this wedding guest book idea from Heather…I want to do it ourselves!

+ This skillet chicken pot pie is one of the best recipes we’ve made in awhile. The leftovers are especially good!

+ A great interview with Paula Sutton of Hill House Village (she’s in Norfolk, England and is creating the rural life escape content that we all need right now).

+ I’ve been a fan of Erin’s work for years but this recent Boston condo project takes the cake. Can I move in!?

+ Diana wrote a great story about J.Crew’s recent filing and potential future.

+ Sticky Thai meatballs with sesame noodles? Yes, please! (We love HBH’s recipes.)

+ We currently have a large box of Pop Tarts at home but these homemade ones look worth the effort!

+ A beautiful post from Nora on Mother’s Day.
