Friday Things

Friday couldn’t come soon enough this week! I’ve been working on some really fun projects that are about to come to fruition and while my creative cup is full in the sense that I’m being challenged in the best ways, it also means I’m in desperate need of some decompressing–which I fully plan to do this weekend since, surprise surprise, we don’t have much on the agenda :) It’s supposed to rain and be pretty hot so fingers crossed we can get in a couple long walks…but I’m sensing needlepointing, reading, and some kind of purging/organizing will be the majority of the next couple days!

OF NOTE…

+ One of the best articles I’ve read about how I am (and many of you are) probably feeling right now over five months into the pandemic.

+ Claire concocted a copycat recipe for Milkbar’s famous confetti cookies.

+ We got this shelf for our most used spices because they were legitimately taking up a sixth of our cabinet space! I’ve had good luck with Command products and like that it’s low profile; we have it tucked behind our bottles of oil and the utensil canister. It’s also available in black.

+ Buckingham Palace made their own gin and I so badly wish it could be delivered to the US!

+ I’m obsessed with Nan’s apartment (her blog is great, too!), decorated by the insanely talented Lilse McKenna.

+ We haven’t been going out to eat much and are opting for takeout once or twice a week, but we went to Shilling Canning Company a couple friends for dinner last Saturday and had a fantastic experience. They have a $55 three course dinner menu that changes weekly and their garden was incredibly socially distant with several precautions in place. All of us were a little nervous going into it and even called the restaurant ahead of time to confirm their outdoor seating. I’d highly recommend if you’re in DC!

+ One of my favorite easy desserts this summer (highly recommend doing it with a Reese’s cup!).

+ The best vintage shops from every state–this list has me itching for a road trip!

+ A tortilla chip taste test…this would be so fun to do at home with a variety of homemade dips.

+ Speaking of taste tests: We always have veggie burgers in the fridge and this ranking was helpful in knowing what to try and what to avoid!

ON THE BLOG:

+ What I’m buying from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

+ I got my wedding dress! Where I went, and what it was like shopping during the pandemic.

+ A little life lately–including a trip out of the city.

+ Get ready to have major house envy!

+ Two years with Millie!
