An L.L. Bean fall favorites post has become an annual tradition of sorts, mostly because I continue to wear several of their cold weather pieces year after year. If you’ve been reading the blog for awhile, you’ve seen some (or many) of these several times before…but I genuinely reach for on repeat as soon as the temperature drops, and there’s a reason they’ve in my closet for despite regular purges!
It looks like Bean updated the look of their classic fisherman sweater (or the original is currently not on the site) but I love this new one, too. The style is a personal favorite for super cold days because it’s perfect for layering. Note: My experience with this style has always been to size up once or twice, but according to the description, this version seems to have a more relaxed fit so your true size may be the right move.
It wouldn’t be a fall L.L. Bean post without some Bean Boots! These are the exact ones I have, but there are several styles (I love these) and they will forever be my favorite cold weather boot. They’re so comfortable and made to last–I’ve had mine since 2012. If you’re not sure what style is right for you, this post can help!
I’ve gone on and on about my love for the Sweater Fleece for years, but truly: it is the best pullover. I sold all my North Face and Patagonias and just have two of these. The fit is great (I have both a M and a L) and it comes in so many colors. It’s always in my gift guides–I’ve never met someone who bought one and didn’t love it.
Last but not least, the coziest slippers! Another favorite gifting item and something that we’d probably all put to good use these days. I’ve worn mine to the ground during Covid and am due for a new pair!
I have an older version of this jacket and it’s my go-to for walking the dog until it gets cold enough for my large puffer. It’s insanely lightweight and washes really well.
