The second gift guide of 2020 is here! Below are 20 ideas that are $50 or less, and I shared 20 ideas for $25 or less on Wednesday. I’m really happy with how these guides are shaping up this year, and hope they’re helpful for you, too! In the past I feel like I’ve relied on big box retailers more when sourcing items, but this year really aimed to focus on a combination of tried + true favorites and smaller businesses I’ve discovered and am excited to support.
I discovered Koop candles back in June and bought three immediately! The fragrances are so good, and they recently updated their packaging. I’ve been really impressed with the burn time and beautiful branding–this was a wonderful Black-owned business to discover!
Since we’ve all cooked more this year than in years past, and probably started reaching for more cookbooks as a result. I’ve always loved the idea of a cookbook stand–they’re practical, can easily be stored when not in use, and the right one is pretty to look at!
While we’re talking beautiful homewares, how pretty is this cocktail spoon set? It would be high on my list of hostess gifts, made even better when accompanied by the host’s favorite liquor.
There’s nothing this tote can’t do–I use this exact size for needlepoint, and Millie has one for her stuff. I literally own this bag in three sizes and can’t speak more highly about its quality and style. It’s timeless and incredibly durable, not to mention monogrammable.
These are my favorite colorful pens! They’re enough of an indulgence to where they feel like a treat, but not so much where I don’t reach for them because they’re expensive. They’d be the perfect gift for a paper-lover or avid to-do-lister!
This may be the most random item on this gift guide but how many times do you reach for your kitchen knives and think they need to be sharpened? (We do this a lot.) I’m still fairly anti-kitchen gadget, but this knife sharpener seems practical if you’re looking to shop for someone who’s difficult to buy for!
There’s truly nothing better than a Dudley Stephens and the kids styles get me every time! This unisex crewneck is cozy, practical (seriously–it washes and wears like a dream) and comes in several colors for the kiddo on your list.
I recently discovered Sea to Skye, a beautifully curated shop inspired by the Scottish and English countrysides (100% into this…our wedding vibe is literally “English countryside meets classic American”!) Everything they carry is gorgeous but I was particularly drawn to this hand knit beanie–a versatile piece, from a small biz, at a great price!
I have been waiting for this book and it’s FINALLY here! HRH: So Many Thoughts on Royal Style comes out next week and is the brainchild of the insanely talented Elizabeth Holmes. She’s a legend on Instagram for those of us who enjoy keeping up with the royal family, and I cannot wait to get my copy and dive in. The book is also stunning and is going to look amazing on a table or shelf!
If you’ve never tried a shrub as a liquor-alternative, you’re seriously missing out. These vinegar-based beverages have been a favorite since I first tried one in Charleston a few years ago, and would be the perfect gift for moms-to-be or anyone looking give an alternative to alcohol. It’s also particularly good as a mixer in an alcoholic cocktail. We’ll be placing an order for ourselves soon, too!
Another recommendation from Grace! This time a more recent one that I haven’t tried yet. Haus set out to create their own apértif, offering a less sweet and less bitter spin on the traditional European variety. You can read more about their story here, but I’m intrigued since I’m a huge Campari fan but know many people find it to be too bitter. Haus’ sampler kit would be perfect for a cocktail lover or someone with a discerning palette (and like I said in my previous gift guide–who isn’t their own bartender these days?).
I’ve written about this recovery gel before but it truly is amazing on sore or tight muscles! I’ll often use it around my shoulders and neck before bed or when I feel a headache coming on. Bonus: all Indie Lee products are also “clean.”
Serena is a relatively new IG follow for me but I initially actually discovered her a few years ago through J, who had come across and purchased her first cookbook. She’s a fav on the ‘gram personality-wise, but her cookbooks are perfect for both guys and girls who love a delectable meal but are also looking to eat clean and make smarter decisions in the kitchen. She has two books–one and two–but I love the idea of gifting them as a set!
