Our Wedding

Long at last: our wedding! It’s the first of many posts; we have so many incredible photos thanks to the inimitable Kate Headley and I’m excited to document everything for friends, family, brides-to-be, and my future self :)

To start, I wanted to share exactly where we landed after downsizing last spring. (You can read about that decision here!) Our 25 person guest list consisted of: us, our parents, three aunts + two uncles, and seven close mutual friends + their partners. All our friends had a role in the wedding; one was our officiant, two did a reading, two were my maids of honor, and two were J’s best men.

When we started talking about potential new venues with our incredible planner, Kate, I told her my dream would be “something like the Mayflower Inn.” She happened to already been emailing with their team about another wedding, so offered to inquire about their availability for us…you know, just in case. Expectations were low! I figured there was no way they would have our date and our budgets would line up. Talk about a pleasant surprise–June 19 was somehow available and due to the pandemic, the property was offering micro and petite wedding packages!

I’d fallen in love with The Mayflower a few months prior, following their full redesign by designer Celerie Kemble. No detail is overlooked–this place is magical. It was actually the #1 contender for our minimoon and I never imagined we’d actually be able to get married there (probably in part because I never expected we’d be replanning our wedding 18 months into the pandemic…haha). It’s idyllic and charming and was really the perfect backdrop for our micro wedding.

My plan is to do individual posts with our rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour, flowers + tablescape, my dress, my hair + makeup, and probably more that I’m overlooking right now.
